IWelcome to the Music Corner of Zebras54

Lost in music, totally wired since since 1988

It all began with my first job and a long-awaited record player, back in an Anglo-German-Swiss transport company where English filled the air. UK and Irish music quickly became my sonic landscape. Unlike hit-driven German radio, albums felt like narrative portals. One of these was Spirit of Eden by Talk Talk and it's one of these records I can say without hesitation that changed my life. I don't look for a particular style when choosing a record, I love musicians with unique sounds.

In Northern Ireland, music deepened through encounters like Terri Hooley, whose legendary shop and stories have shaped the local music scene.

CDs became my main format in the late '90s, often picked up at concerts. In 2002, this site began as a showcase: favourite bands, concert snapshots, and musical discoveries. I found many artists via MySpace, and in the early days, the page resembled a playlist with clickable links to artist websites or MySpace profiles. I also created a youtube page where I put songs that I filmed at concerts since 2011, all of course in the DIY spirit.

Since moving to France in 2017, life’s turbulence paused things a bit… but since summer 2025,  the site is modernizing its format

All these songs have lived in my home across different formats—cassette, vinyl, CD, MP3—but now, thanks to Spotify, they finally come together under one roof in perfect harmony

If you like any of the music you see, please do not just stream but also support the artists by buying their releases. Of course: keep music live.
